My Dog Is Older in Human Years Than My New Consultants, or My New Consultants, in Dog Years, Are Not Yet 3

Today I met with my new organizational consultants, Kyle and two other guys whose names I didn’t catch. All three are undergraduate business majors at the college. We have a course here on organizational management and I asked the professor if she needed some case study fodder. She went for it and now I have these three guys who are going to take a bunch of data I’ve thrown them and propose a reorg to create more agility and better services for less money. So far, they are enthusiastic. I also tried to get the computer science students to work on some of our programming projects but they refused. Maybe I can get an English student to write my annual report? Work study, anyone?

Just to be clear, that’s not me, although I might be needing to do some slide line consulting if things don’t get better where I am now.

My favorite workstudy story: A friend needed someone to do his grants filing, and was set up with an MBA student, who, prior B-school, was the Finance Minister of an African nation.

I see a reality show in this…something like “The Apprentice” or “I Want to Work for Diddy”…or maybe more like a version of “The Office” that takes place on a college campus.

Yes, it’s not that Kyle! Sukey–you’re right! But, let’s give the students Flip cameras and they can make the reality show themselves!

Bendy, your story is The Best. We all whine about our jobs and then we have cabbies or fast food clerks who, prior to arriving in the US, were doctor, engineers, etc. It’s like Sarah Palin! From hockey mom to vp candidate! Ain’t American well, I dunno. Scratch that.
